Major Rezone

Some drivers may know that we have not done a major rezone since 2015 and our current maps are way out of date.

We have been working on a new map since 2017 and are finally ready to make it go live today.

There will be some disruption to pricing and backup zones we aim to put this right as quickly as possible.

The dispatching method will be set to the nearest car for today and tomorrow.  Please do not get annoyed if you are inconvenienced because in the long run, it will be very good for you.

Some Highlights of rezoning:

Bradford Place end of Walsall has been split up from Tesco End

Stroud Avenue is now in Short Heath

Willenhall Tesco and Goals Century Drive is now in Willenhall Zone

All of Sandwell has been redone

All of Birmingham Has been Redone

New zones in Bloxwich Pelsall Brownhills area

And Much more.

New Contract Notification

We are pleased to announce to drivers we have had two more contracts awarded this week:

  1. Freephone at Calderfields Golf Club
  2. Freephone at Travel Inn Express J10

These have been achieved through the hard work of our managers who are now actively marketing businesses in Walsall to use our excellent service.

We thank all drivers for all their hard work in making 247 the success it is.

247 Cars: 5000 Jobs in one day

Saturday 29th June 2019 saw us complete more than 5000 jobs for the first time.  We have been advertising heavily, but more importantly, we used the “nearest car” dispatch method from 1pm until the early hours of Sunday morning.

As many of you know we already use “nearest car” in the morning, after Friday Prayer and at late Friday and Saturday nights.

We will be extending this “nearest car” dispatch method at the following times:

After 12pm on Saturdays until 1am Sunday morning

12pm until 6pm on Sunday afternoons

3pm – 6pm Monday to Friday

This will cover jobs more effectively and give you less dead mileage.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will also switch the “nearest car” on temporarily whenever we have:

  1. Shortage of Drivers (Like Eid)
  2. Special Events
  3. Where there is less than a quarter of driver free and clear
  4. Any other time where it is busy and there are more than 20 jobs waiting

Finally, please note that these measures have been put in place to improve standards and our service to you and the passengers you pick up.   We continue to investigate avenues of further investment.
