UK Announces Month-Long Lockdown

A National Lockdown has been announced from Thursday 5th November.  This news carries a sad wave and @ 247 Cars were hoping otherwise for the sake of our partners. However, the positive part is that we are familiar with the process.

There is a difference that schools will remain open and people will be able to go to work.  However, leisure industry will completely close meaning night work is likely to get affected.

We appreciate the past seven months have been incredibly difficult for the Private Hire Industry, the demand at an all-time low. We @ 247 cars have tried our level best to support drivers by investing thousands on partition screens and giving them to our drivers for free with Social Media campaigns to help drivers and much more.

Our Marketing team will be working tirelessly to make sure your wheels keep rolling, the marketing budget will be increased threefold and new avenues will be explored to gain new customers.  We will also be issuing promo codes to our existing customers, which we will fully refund to drivers.

We @ 247 Cars strongly advise the following safety measures, always wear a mask, sanitize and wash your hands regularly and avoid physical contact.

Effective from Monday 2nd November 2020 commission will be applied to all fares completed.  There will be no Cap so high earners will contribute more.  Any old Black Cab percentages have been moved in line with the new rates Black Cab Rates.

Our aim is to invest to ensure our drivers can earn a living during the next 4 weeks and as witnessed in previous lockdown we were far better off than any competitor in the West Midlands.

We will get through this together and we fully expect to be making acquisitions in the coming months as smaller companies struggle to cope and look to sell.

We @ 247 Cars hope you stay safe and well during this testing period. We welcome you getting in contact with our Driver Task Force team if you have any further questions and be sure to check your PDA for further details.

Important Message for all Drivers

Important Message

We have reported the issue of driver’s position changing and dropping down to Autocab. They replied this will only happen if the driver rejects a job from the same zone or if someone has had a no fare. We replied that drivers are saying this is happening even if they have not rejected a booking. They have escalated the matter to next line to investigate further.

The operators do not change your position. The operators do not give out the jobs. ALL the jobs are dispatched by the system (computer). The Operators only take calls.

The last few weeks have seen an increase in abuse by drivers towards staff who answer calls. If they could give you jobs, swearing at them is not going to make them do it.

We would like to clarify the role of ‘Dispatcher’. Drivers are calling and asking to speak to the ‘Dispatcher’. The dispatcher is the person who answers the driver messages. The dispatcher is not the person who is giving out the jobs. The computer gives out the jobs. When you call the Driver Line the person who answers the call will deal with you and not put you through to the dispatcher who actually cannot do anything more than the person you are speaking to already. The job title of ‘Dispatcher’ will be changed to message handler. Therefore at any time on shift there will be call handlers and message handlers only and no dispatcher.

If a job is booked incorrectly, for example from the wrong pick-up point or any other error then you need to report this by WhatsApp to 01902 247247 or email (Support@247-247.net). We will identify the call handler.

You cannot abuse anyone in the workplace. This workplace is no different. Any Driver abusing a call handler will have their activation deleted.
