Link Up Cars Acquisition

As many of our drivers will be aware  Link Up Cars has been purchased and is now part of the 247 Group.

We are working closely with the previous owners to integrate the base with regards to pricing, coverage area.  We have found Arfan and Kasim to be extremely helpful and look forward to working with them in future development.

The Chameleon Club is a very important customer and we ask all drivers to respect the users from there and in return they are very generous to drivers.

Following from Andy Star Bilston last year we now have a solid grip from Wolves, Bilston, Moxley, Bradley, Darlaston, Pleck, to Walsall Town.  This corridor is very busy and we have increased the Link Up Darlaston minimum Fare to £3 so it is in line with our main fare structure.  Please do rank in these areas to cover work fully and effectively.

We continue to invest in our business which you are all a part of.  Please use the facilities we have put in place especially texting 07400247393 with complaints you may have.  If you have a disagreement with a  customer, please give them benefit of doubt and report the issue to us.  We promise we will do our best to sort it out.

This strategic move is timed to take full advantage of the very busy upcoming festive season.  Please work and hard and keep safe.

 

New Dispatch Method

We are pleased to announce that we plan the following trial:

  1. Show you selected job details and price before you accept job
  2. Allow you to reject the job without penalty – just don’t accept if you don’t want
  3. Recover from backup zones without penalty
  4. Zone Enquiry: Allows you to check zones for active and pre-booked jobs.
  5. You can bid and if you don’t like it just let it reject without penalty

This gives further transparency making us the fairest dispatch company in Walsall, Wolves or Wednesbury.

All we ask is keep recovery to minimum

Please respect what you are being given here.  If trial goes well then this system will be here to stay.

No More Penalties from back up zones

If you get a job from a backup zone from a backup zone you will not get a penalty.

Only drivers who reject a job in the zone they are working will be penalised. If they reject a job from a backup zone, they will not be penalised.

  • Unless you bid for that Job
  • It is a instant dispatch App job
  • Operator requested job for you.

Remember do not argue with operator everything is on auto, operators are still not allowed to remove penalties manually.

Another improvement to make driver’s lives easier and fairer.

Nearest Car

As announced recently we have made certain zones to dispatch to nearest car.  So system will give job to nearest driver even if you were next.  This has been happening for last 2 years in morning 8-9, Friday afternoon and Friday/Saturday night after 11pm.  No driver has every complained  about this and increased the amount of jobs we cover at these times.  This will also have same effect in areas where we don;t have so many jobs.

We have not touched Willenhall, Bentley, Short Heath, New Invention, Bilston, Darlaston Bilston local zones etc etc where we are busy and drivers rank.

In quieter zones and all Wolves zones  we have made it nearest car so we are not pulling you far causing recoveries.

The system does a job and drivers must trust the system to automatically dispatch to the closest cars when the jobs are further away.

This method has proven to increases the amount of jobs we cover and reducing dead mileage.

This has begun from immediate effect.

The Reputation of your company

World Class Customer Support

We have now had a World Class Customer support system since April 2018 and during this time we have collected a lot of data.  The first 6 months has seen us  give amnesty on most minor offences.   This amnesty has now come to an end.

There are small minority who are ruining the reputation of this company.  The work we do aims to increase the work for our drivers and is why we are the largest and best Taxi company in Walsall.  We are the only company that acquires 2 or 3 new bases every year and constantly reinvests to improve the service we offer.

Fines & Sanctions

Certain drivers are trying to push the system to the limit and we are about to publish policies that will clearly explain Fines & Sanctions that will be given to drivers for:

  1. Mobile Phones use with or without Bluetooth whilst passengers on board
  2. Overcharging
  3. Not moving or taking detours after receiving job
  4. Being rude and not helping passengers

We will continue to add to this list and publish on driver blog.  It is your duty to read this when we alert you.  This means your mobile number should be up to date.  The author of these lists is our driver’s behaviour and the above list has happened more than once during the past week.

New Method of Dispatch

We are also looking at a new way of dispatching due to level of recovered jobs we are still experiencing.  Nearest Car is used during Friday afternoon and after 11pm on Friday and Saturday already plus between 8-9am on Weekdays.  So you already experience it every week.

This method has been used by  a large company in the East Midlands recently and has proven to increase the amount of jobs (over 10,000 jobs increase per week) covered and a big increase in driver income.  It does require drivers to trust the system as we are reaffirming that dispatch is completely transparent at 247 Cars and no favouritism is shown to any driver(s).

Note: Nearest Car is only being looked at no final decision has been made

Going Forward

We will not tolerate any consistent poor behaviour going forward.  Offences that constitute Gross Misconduct will result in Summary Dismissal.   Our company will continue to grow bigger and stronger without these people.

For other drivers we will require the worst performing drivers in terms of complaints to attend a 3 hour training session with a view to help you improve your customer service skills.

Taxi drivers receive a bad press in many different ways, but we do realise it is only ever a minority who let our industry down.  You must do all you can to improve this reputation.

We realise that the above will not affect the vast majority of our hard working, honest drivers, but will stop the minority who losing us work on a daily basis.
